SOB X2!!!

I officially hate skunks! Went to let the girls out last night before heading to bed. Noticed vermin bunny in middle of yard but didn't notice vermin dark blob over along tree/fence line until P went flying in that direction. Thankfully it's still too chilly for neighbors windows to be open so they hopefully missed the scream to come back and horrid odor that hit seconds later. Luckily the girls are pretty good at listening so they stopped short of being blasted full on but they still "had the odor." If that smell doesn't want to make one ill the second it hits, one must have no nose.

Got them back in the house while watching the damn little vermin scamper through the yard to hide under the shed. (New priority project - seal off shed completely in next week or so!!!) Got the girls up to the bathroom right away. Smell followed through the house but quickly dissipated. Gathered up the tested and true ingredients to kill the odor and both girls got baths. Just what I wanted to do at 12:30 at night. Ugh! Having two girls in a yard that backs to a park district it happens from time to time but normally not both at once. Thank god for finding a good recipe to kill the stench quickly.

They got their spring baths early and inside (usually outdoors in kiddy pool). Other than being damp when we went to bed, all was okay. Got woken up 2 times though with that distinct odor hitting the house again. That damn vermin, or maybe a couple are around here right now, sprayed something 2 more times before 5:30 am. My house is pretty well sealed up but that odor gets in when it's so close. I'll have to check with neighbors this afternoon to see what side got it. Flash on one side and 4 pits on the other. Skunk picked the wrong homes to try and settle in at.

Bad thing is now I can't leave the girls out during the day. Going for a ride today with Jane and they'll have to stay inside as I won't risk another spraying or worst, a bite with not being home to keep an eye on them. I hate skunks and to get both my girls! Bastards.

Wieser

His front shot - hello there...

So Joe was over today and helped me swap out some temp sensor thingy in the shower that I haven't been able to use for months as the water was at best the temperature of Lake Michigan in mid January. Not pleasant. (Note: I did shower, simply used the guest bathroom so ha ha keep your jokes.) After it's all put back together and we're done putting stuff away, he says he wants to take Wieser with him. A year ago I was almost in a shocked state that he didn't want him but now it was a very sad conversation.

Granted Wieser's technically his cat but he's been in my life for almost 12 years and this past year it's just been him with me and the girls. I'm the one taking care of vet check-ups, food, litter, loving on him, etc. He's part of the family. Now tonight I'm typing this and the little bugger is at Joe's. It's very wierd not having him sitting here and sad.

Little bugger. There was a slight smile when Joe called earlier and said he wouldn't come out from under the bed. Anyone who's ever met him knows he is one of the first to greet you at the door with the girls and come check you out the second you sit on the couch. Doesn't help from missing him though. By now he would be sitting on my shoulder trying to figure out if what I'm typing is worth any reading.

He's always close by:

Maybe Joe will get busted for having him and he will come back sooner than later or he'll realize there's an expense to taking care of him that he won't want to deal with. I guess until then, the girls and I will miss him and I'll have to get some of my many pics of him printed and put up.

Okay, well I know I should accept it and hopefully with some time it will sting a little less. I certainly did appreciate the help today and I did know that this might someday happen.

For a complete change of subject...
Right now as I'm typing I just realized it's after 11 and somehow my love of cycling has me doing crazy stuff. Flanders is tomorrow and it's on live at 5:50 AM. So for some unknown godly reason I want to be up to watch it and listen and be a part of the crazy fun over at PodiumCafe. If you haven't been over there, you should stop from time to time. Great people and fun stuff! At some point I'll need to head to get some zzz's. 5:15 comes early and my El Gallo will need to be ground and brewed - probably more than once at such a foolish early hour. Cycling. Crazy stuff!!! Good Sleeps all and GOOD LUCK Slipstream, George, Tony, & Stuey!!!

Pooky

What a life... Pooky snoozed while I worked from home on Friday. My sweet girl is getting older. She's so darn sweet and likes her spot on the couch. She kicks most people off so she can have it. :-) I found some pics when the computer got moved of her when I first got her. She was so tiny and then another when she was a few months. She was a riot!

Still in a strange funk and not sure how to shake it. I'm hoping some sleep might help. Can't say I got a lot this weekend and then last night I think I scored a whole hour and that's only if you piece all the tidbits together. Went to bed, laid there for a good hour or two, got back up. Did that a couple times and then gave up. Scary how one can be this tired and truly just unable to drift off. Got a work out in tonight so hopefully tonight will be a little easier. Having this cough has made it almost impossible to work out. 2 attempts in almost 2 weeks, not good. Tonight wasn't too bad. Got a good 20 minutes in before the coughs started and then just pushed through until the CD I was listening to was done.

Having all the time I did last night, I've pondered the idea of a roommate again. Luckily its not about funds but more so just thinking about having someone else around. I miss college days of roommates. Not sure I could handle a female but need to keep options open if I get serious about the idea. The guys were always much more enjoyable to have around and live with - no offense Jane and actually I am sure you might agree. Ronnie, D, and Kevin certainly kept things fun. No PMSing and for the most part, when the rare tiff would appear it was done and over with before anytime fretting it was done. We'll have to see. Until then, maybe I can find a few pics from the adventures. I'm sure those memories would make or break the idea. Tee hee!

Meet Piglet!

I had to share this picture Jane sent. Her and John have stray cats in their area (they're not even in hodunk cheeseland). A week or so ago, they coaxed this cutie inside from the cold as they were worried she wouldn't make it. They took her to the vet to have her looked over and it was discovered she had a big gash on her side (the shaved area) that was getting infected. It was a very good thing they got her in from the cold and to the vet when they did. They operated, cleaned it all up, and sent her home with the funny cone thing so she could heal up. She's already a part of their family and is doing good. The poor things is pretty cute and I'm sure she's really happy to have such a good home.
