2008 Giro - Stage 10 ITT

Race of Truth. Always an interesting day to keep an eye on. I was a bit bummed that CN and VN had nothing on Christian. Thank goodness for the PC gang. This morning was pretty humorous. I had the stream going on the computer, reading and following along with the PC gang, talking to John on the phone, and trying to get some actual work done. John, who I'm helping with what C is doing and where he's at, is giving me some shit about his dollars at work. This coming from John! If I'd share more you too would be laughing at the irony of that. LOL John! LOL! It was just pretty funny though and in the end all updates were gotten and all was well.

At PC, Dan had similar joking with heading to the gym after the race. I think when one is salary and hours worked in the first few months of year could probably equal those of others entire years worth, a bit more freedom can sometimes be found with stuff like this. Now if I did this everyday, I probably wouldn't keep my job. But a day or two here and there... Kind of adjusted a bit when one works through lunches, dinners, and gives up weekends as that's all part of the package I signed on for. Plus I rarely hear anyone complaining when I'm still logging in work at 11:30 at night. All is good and all is fair. :-)

Phone calls with John are always enjoyable. He too yelled at me for possibly doing a bit much with the ride Sunday. But thankfully he gets some of the why. Plus the stories of things being "relative" is true all the way around and worth a smile or two between him and C. GG, I think she hates riding, but does it for me anyway. I think there is a small part of her that enjoyed seen a shorter riding day but that's okay as we will surely make up for it this next weekend. :-)

I have to say that at the end of today I am very curious with Alberto. Not a doping type wondering but more so, has the kid ever had a bad day? He's motivated. He's very talented. And he's very fit. The problem today is even with, I believe a fractured elbow, the kid rides well enough for 2nd place. That's some serious speed. Astana overall is well placed with tactical heaven going on right now. Hopefully other teams will work together to keep this race full gas and interesting through the mountains. I'm curious to see how Siutsou and Soler do and I'm hoping that C can continue with good form and stay up near the top. I would love to see him finish with a top 10. On for some good reads today -
