Philly Week - Stage 2 - Reading Classic

Watched today as best I could while "working". Other than Elk Grove and Downers, I'm pretty used to Euro races so this week is a rush when it comes to the speeds and corners. Today's stage started earlier than it should've, or the organizers screwed something up. They were missing some riders and cars from what we got from the tv coverage. The first lap was neutralized and then everything got going. The guys up front looked so ready to take off. That delay had to suck a bit. Not sure I've seen anything yet that explains what the mix up was.

Meatball was up in the early break. Go Meatball! Then I got pulled away from the computer for a bit and when I come back Will is up in a new break. That one had numbers but as he stated in articles, possibly too many. Brad Huff came in 5th today and is now in the overall lead going into Sunday. Really happy for him after missing the early season. The man hasn't lost anything and that's great.

The breaks could not seem to get away today. A small group would get a few seconds and then the peloton would suck them back up. Another group would go and they'd be out ahead for a bit and they too would get sucked back in. Over and over. While flying down the road and mastering corners. The announcers on TV were pretty awful. They were getting names wrong (e.g. Carl Frischkorn) and nationalities and on and on. The comments they made were so "dumb" and off the wall we could not help but to have some fun with it. And then the one had a serious thing for Sevilla. Lordy, get the man a towel for the drool. :-)

Give my condolences to John today. I don't know if you will see this before you go, but wanted to ask any way.

I've been doing my best to avoid the computer for a small bit. Not successful but at least it's been limited today.

I passed along yours and others condolences. The funeral was nice but I had tears during taps. That song gets me everytime. The flag presentation by the Navy was really nicely done. Sad day.
