Great Start!

On a much more exciting note - Christian finished 2nd overall at the Tour of the Bahama's!

This is pulled from Slipstream's website:

Team Slipstream/Chipotle-H3O Sweeps Tour of Bahamas; Vandevelde 2nd overall
Jonathan Vaughters Reports

"Key members of our Tour of California squad started the 2008 season at the Tour of the Bahamas, Feb 2-3. Though we took all three stages, the victories were hard won with intense competition from Cuba and Florida."

"David Zabriskie won the opening 5K prologue on Saturday. That afternoon, Tyler Farrar won the 90K circuit race in a field sprint. Then on Sunday, Farrar won the hot 180K road race solo - a first for the 23-year old." "Sunday's win was anything but easy as overall event leader Frank Trevisio and his Toshiba gang kept chasing down Slipstream's attempts to break the field. Finally the fitness gained by the last three weeks of hard training in New Mexico paid off. The band snapped and Farrar soloed the last 20K of the race. Meanwhile, Christian Vandevelde kept an eye on the chase group and moved up to second overall in the process."

"A big thanks to Mark Holowesko, Susan Larson and Scott Hirschorn of H3O for their hospitality and making this trip possible."

The team's site also has a picture of C and Tyler Farrar on the podium with the above update.

On another very cool note, Ryder Hesjedal finished 3rd at the GP la Marseillaise! Take a quick read of Will's blog entry after the race. The team is off to a really great start and it's exciting to see them doing so well!

For some enjoyment, Dave Z has a new entry on his site from his travels to the Bahama's. He mentions his "bullshit button" going off as he's going to catch the next flight. We can only imagine the story behind it. I guess we can just hope he shares more later! I'm not sure we want to know more about his photo included with it...

CyclingTV has the stages from the Tour of Qatar that you can view in the Free2View section. There is also a YouTube of Stage 5 that shows the crash that ended with Maggie having a broken collar bone.

Hope everyone had a good weekend & the snow stops well before our morning commutes!
